SOUP, The Bowl that Keeps Feeding – visit the site…
A community event that allows children to become involved through food and art. The children make the food, create the art, and share them both with our guests.
How does it work? You contribute a small donation, choose a hand-thrown bowl, and we fill it with savory soup. You leave with a full belly, a piece of art and a warm heart knowing that your donation helped to feed a child.
All proceeds from the event go to Homeward Bound of Marin’s Emergency Family Shelter
In 2009, What’s Cooking and Studio 4 Art collaborated on a project to help local families in crisis. The event, SOUP – The Bowl that Keeps Feeding, raised $1500 for Homeward Bound of Marin.
Our sequel in March of 2011 was a success. Over 100 children made soup bowls in the art studio, and nearly 60 local students made soup with What’s Cooking with Kids! Go team!
” I felt generous when I made food for somebody else. I also felt happy that it would be served at a fundraising party for helping families that are in a disaster.
Thank you for cooking with my class today.”
“WOW! That was fun. Today, my classmates and I helped cook soup. It was fun to cook with the tomatoes because they were squishy. We worked nicely with our partners and felt good because we got to help the homeless.”
