My husband’s favorite is any kind of sorbet (he can’t have dairy). My favorite ice cream flavor is cookies and cream!
For me I buy based primarily on the flavor of ice cream.
Ok that’s weird — I haven’t bought ice cream in ages, but I had a dream about it last night! I dreamt I was at my parents’ house, eating mint chip straight out of the freezer. Clearly if I had this ice cream maker, I could do better! Haha.
Oooh! I was thinking on the fourth that it would be so great to be able to have homemade ice cream at our BBQ, but I didn’t have an ice cream maker. ;( What if I actually won!?!? Our family’s favorite is vanilla with various toppings, from berries to Heath chips.
I get your newsletters!
I’m also a facebook fan of your page.
We love Cookies & Cream!
I am also your FB fan
I just had to enter now that I have learned to make frozen yogurt in an ice cream maker, I’m dying to get one! We love mint chip, cookies and cream, and fudge brownie flavors. I tend to buy Edy’s Slow Churned because they are lower in fat and calories, but I’ve always been a Baskin & Robbins mint chip girl.
Let’s see my 6 yr old loves mint choc chip and coffee ice cream, my 9 yr loves choc ice cream with jimmies ,my threeyr loves vanilla ,my hubby and I like all of the flavors!I like you on FB , love your posts, also have your cookbook!

Can’t say that my family has one favorite, as each person has their own. Black raspberry for my husband, cookie dough for my 10 year old, rocky road for my 16 year old and chocolate (made with coconut milk) for me.
We definitely but based on ingredients + flavor. There is WAY too much junk in a lot of mass produced frozen desserts. When we’re able to make our own, it eliminates that issue.
We love anything chocolate! I look for more natural options when buying.
I’m a fb fan
In our family, each person has a different favorite: mine is dulce de leche, my husband’s is vanilla with chocolate syrup and peanuts on top; and the kids’ favorites are strawberry (my girl), coffee (one of my boys), and kisar pista kulfi (my oldest boy).
My almost five year old is addicted to a really good vanilla ice cream (and who can blame her?!) while I LOVE any berry sherbet or sorbet. We frequent a place here locally that makes it from scratch, with all fresh ingredients and it really shows in their product. We would LOVE an ice cream maker to make our own (especially vanilla-honey!).
We love ALL ice cream! We have a local creamery that we typically get our ice cream from, so depending on what is new that is what we choose. Thomas Organic Creamery has an awesome gingerbread that is to die for!
I facebooked, tweeted, and newslettered! We want that ice cream maker!
I love chocolate ice cream but the kids sure prefer mint choc chip. I buy based on what we’re pairing it with or just go with one of our favorites.
Just joined the What’s Cooking With Kids community on fb.
…and I’m now subscribed to the monthly newsletter.

I’m a facebook follower!
My very favorite is coconut ice cream with pineapples mixed in.. yum!
We love Birthday Cake ice cream and Cherry Vanilla ice cream, both from Blue Bell. (I’ll also eat almost any Ben & Jerry’s flavor!) Favorite topping has to be whipped cream…yes, the kind from a can
We love homemade strawberry ice cream!

I don’t eat refined sugar, so ice cream is out for me. But my husband dies for Ben & Jerry’s brownie batter ice cream. My toddler is just learning the fun of ice cream, so no clear favorite yet.
My family is not crazy about ice cream, they mainly stick to vanilla! I, however, love a good rich chocolate ice cream with brownie chunks. When I buy ice cream, brand usually is important to me, just so I don’t get home with boring or yucky frozen treats.

Moose tracks, the best ever
chocolate or vanilla for the family. My favorite is hazelnut. We usually buy Bluebell, living in Texas.
Mint chocolate chip.
Favorite flavor is Coffee and I try to taste all brands once to see what they offer!

We love ice cream, but it’s hard for our family. My daughter’s lactose intolerant (so sorbets are good), my son is severely allergic to nuts (cross contamination on equipment, countertops and scoopers are concerns) and I’m picky about serving up artificial ingredients to my family. But, no family can live without ice cream, so we make it work! Homemade definitely sounds like the answer…if we don’t win this, I think I’ll be investing in one myself…thanks for the idea. I am already a fb fan.
I like to make Butter ice cream (basically Butter Pecan w/o the Pecans). A few ppl in my family can’t have nuts/seeds, so this is a real treat for them. We usually top it with Dulce De Leche, or home-made caramel on top.
any chocolate is always good, my all time favorite is orange chocolate chip (you can only find it in a few places). I like to try diff. brands all the time.
Already a fan on FB.
We pretty much only buy vanilla as a family. Then we each get to add our own toppings and make what we want out of it. I usually buy the same brands knowing their ingredient lists are shorter and more natural than the other brands.
I already like you on facebook!
Hoping I win! We have an old hand-crank ice cream maker that we just used this past weekend and I was thinking about how nice the new machines must be.
Our family favorite is homemade peach ice cream. Any kind of chocolate would be the choice for store bought.
I follow What’s Cooking with Kids on Facebook.
We buy according to flavor, usually.

I usually buy an ice cream with ingredients I can pronounce. So… Breyers and mostly vanilla, chocolate chip, or something w/chocolate in it!
Just one favorite flavor??? Chocolate definitely ranks right up there, but there are SO many possibilities!

Everyone in our family likes a different flavor of ice cream – my husband loves coffee, my daughter is a cookie dough fan, and my son goes back and forth between mint chocolate chip and strawberry. My favorite is chocolate peanut butter. We choose all-natural (aka “Philadelphia-style”) whenever possible!
I’m a fan on Facebook!
I’m also subscribed to your newsletter!
Cookies and Creme is a household favorite around here.
We just returned from Italy and my kids have discovered the joy of gelato! Lemon, chocolate and pistachio were some of our favorites.
Hi! I love butter pecan. My hubby likes plain vanilla. I love to have stuff I can chew in my ice cream. I buy my ice cream based on flavor AND taste. All butter pecan is not equal!
My all time favorite is Mint Chocolate Chip, but my husband loves anything chocolate. My kids love just about any kind of ice cream. I do look at brand when I am at the grocery store. I really like Homemade Ice Cream, and when I am going out for ice cream I love Baskin Robbins!

No one in my family likes the same kind of ice cream. My husband likes lime sorbet. I like chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. My oldest child likes weird colored ice cream (Superman ice cream, for example). My middle child likes any kind of ice cream that is green (especially mint chocolate chip). My last child likes strawberry ice cream. So needless to say our freezer if full of all types. And we normally buy what is on sale, although I try to buy the “healthier” kind (Weight Watchers, Skinny Cow, etc).

We need a new ice cream maker! Ours in on its last legs.
We just made cherry-vanilla-almond ice cream from cherries we picked at a local organic U-pick and it was a big hit. When we buy ice cream we are fond of mint-chocolate chip, cookies & cream, strawberry, and vanilla. My favorite is homemade vanilla with homemade caramel sauce topped with salted peanuts.
Now I really want some ice cream.
Low Fat Sugar Free Pudding Ice Cream
Ginger, coconut, vanilla, or lemon—it varies. I base my ice cream choices on ingredients, brand, and flavor.
Favorite flavors include coconut chip, mint chip or anything with chocolate. Usually buy the slow churned varieties because they taste as good as regular ice cream but a little less calories and fat (so I can enjoy more often).
oh i would love this mmmm. so would my kids lol. my fav is mint choc chip and caramel x
My family loves chocolate ice cream (especially with anything mixed in it) or plain strawberry ice cream. We usually buy based on the flavors, but if we see a healthier version, it’s definitely a bonus! Oh, and I am a fan on FB.
We love Breyer’s Mint Chocolate Chip.
We like plain old vanilla ice cream with cookie dough pieces. I buy store bought by brand, Blue Bell is the best.

Our family members each have different favorites. Mine is Fudge Brownie and it’s only sold by Baskin Robin in Oregon. It’s one of the first things I’m going to eat when we move back home at the end of the month:) If I do buy something at the store, I purchase by brand: Breyers or Ben and Jerry’s’.
marcee dot rodgers at gmail dot com
Natural Vanilla is our favorite flavor, and our toppings are almost always seasonal fruit, or homemade fruit preserves (currently, peach, blueberry, blackberry, and strawberry). We buy and make ice cream equally. I look for only natural ingredients. I have a brand of ice cream (a store brand, believe it or not) that uses only milk, cream, sugar, and natural vanilla. It’s yummy!
I’m always attracted to the deepest, darkest chocolatiest flavors and only the top notch stuff – I’m not wasting calories on fillers or less than the best ingredients. It has to be real and I don’t mean the little logo that any dairy processor can stick on their stuff no matter how much unreal stuff they’ve added.
Same for toppings – a truly homemade hot fudge, fresh pecans, real homemade whipped cream, fresh raspberries or strawberries… mmmm…. I’m getting hungry
and I am a FB fan
My Daughter Samantha loves cookies and cream thats her fave i like any geloto
I love mint chocolate chip, my husband cookie dough. Vanilla is also so good ( just plain – not new York/vanilla bean/homestyle – just plain vanilla). I like mine with chocolate syrup, crushed walnuts and banana slices!
Cookies and Creme is the best flavor! I always buy my ice cream based on flavor, and find sometimes that the generic brands are the best!

I love hearing about the foods your families enjoy! It is great to see how well you can accommodate all of the preferences in your household!
I’m a member on Facebook! I wonder about a vanilla ice cream with streaks of plum syrup?! Mmmmm.
Our favorite is good old vanilla!! It may sound boring but there are so many toppings so we all get what we want. Whether its berries, syrup, crushed candies, fruits like peaches or bananas. Sometimes even a combination!! With this heat I think ice cream is on the menu for dessert tonight! I’m on Facebook… but not twitter… I have the cookbook though… is that an extra entry??
We buy mostly by flavor, but also by brand and quality of ingredients. Husband and daughter prefer mint chip, I like straight chocolate, but we can all agree on chocolate syrup on top!
(already a newsletter subscriber and FB group member)
We mostly buy by flavor, though I sometimes buy low carb or low calorie kind. We all like chocolate, though I tend to get my young children vanilla or a sherbet if we are out getting a treat.
mint chocolate chip– yum!
i follow you on fb
My husband just bought Mint Chocolate Chip Brownie & that was really good. We all like Mint Chocolate Chip. But I do read ingredients & try not to get too much junk. I do like all natural & if we had our own maker, we could make it naturally.
I follow you on FB
My favorite is hard to choose, I like chocolate chip cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan to just name a few. But if I had to choose I would go with chocolate chip cookie dough.
Honestly it is hard to pick a favorite flavor or topping but I love any ice cream we can put bananas or strawberries on top. This year is especially great since we are growing our own strawberries for the first time! As for brands or ingredients, I like it when brands strive for less ingredients, so Hagen Daz is great for me most times. But we really love Ben and Jerry’s. Sometimes a pint is all it takes to get me through a bad day. HA!
Oops and I follow you on Facebook.
Vanilla Vanilla Vanillla – you can do so many things – add berries, chocolate chips, chocolate, syrups of all kind.
Homemade Honey Mango frozen yogurt… yum yum yum!
When I buy, I read ingredients… surprisingly, walmart has good ice cream at a good price with few “unpronounceables” also plain sugar instead of corn syrup.
I like mint chocolate chip best! I buy based on lots of criteria. Sometimes it is just flavor, but most of the time it is nutritional content!
We are a strawberry ice cream family.
I TOTALLY choose based on ingredients. I like many of Breyers’ ingredient lists, and “Five” by H. Daas.
I buy based on brands that offer slow churn-great taste and less fattening! I like to buy vanilla and chocolate to use for a great ice cream cake recipe (it would be better with homemade ice cream though). I make a homemade nut sauce, think Nutella, that goes between the ice cream layers-yum!
My favorite is homemade vanilla ice cream. I like to put strawberries & blueberries on top.
I liked your page on fb.
I receive your newsletter.
Our favorite flavor is whatever is on sale and has some chunks of something in it! Usually, whipped cream is begged for as a topping, regardless of if it’s in the house.
just finished the chocolate!!
usually just vanilla from the store and i buy the one with the least ingredients that are mostly organic.
if i’m buying gelato…..it’s peppermint!!!
Oooh..We’ve been wanting an icecream maker forever. Right now, I’m all about black cherry though the kids prefer all sorts of crazy flavors.
http://twitter.com/craftsbykatie/statuses/89386905652826112
We love pistachio ice cream and mango sorbet! Usually with no toppings.
If we’re going for toppings, then our vote is a good vanilla ice cream, with chopped nuts and dark, toasted unsweetened coconut with fresh berries!
I usually buy on flavor first, brand or quality second, price third.
I love caramel flavored ice creams. With caramel sauce. Yum.
I absolutely love creem ice cream with butterscotch topping. My husband favorite is chocolate.

My blackberries are coming in like crazy here in the South – I have been making bb vinegar, jam, cobbler and my new love is Blackberry Sorbet, it is so flavorful I can’t quit eating it.
I love to make homemade ice cream, but if I buy it, I usually will by Blue Bell’s Homemade Vanilla – then I can flavor it with fruits or sauces on hand.
I follow Whats Cooking & am friends on FB – Happy summer…ST
We like vanilla with any sort of chocolate topping! Though homemade hot fudge is a fave.

My favorite flavor of ice cream is Ben and Jerry’s Half Baked. It is the perfect combination of cookie dough and brownies.
I’m so glad I just caught your tweet for this giveaway. I was just bemoaning my need for an ice cream maker, this one is so cute. I’m a dairy free gal, so I typically go for the coconut or hemp varieties. I like flavors like matcha green tea or anything that mimics Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia (I used to work there in my teens). I’ve been dying to experiment with a coconut carrot ice cream, would love to win!
I LOVE coffe ice cream w/ chocolate chips, and/or choc chip mint ice cream. Oh yeas and dark chocolate fudge to mix. Yum!
My kids love vanilla, strawberry, caramel pecan, any sorbets (especially mango). I am very picky with my flavors, the rest of the family is not.
We buy ice cream based on quality first and then flavor. I would love to make it at home and I know kids will have a great time adding flavors and toppings: nuts, fresh and dry fruit, chocolate!

We used to buy vanilla ice milk, which we liked better than ice cream, but can not find it where we live now.

Ingredients are very important to me and I will not buy the flavor if I do not like the ingredients listed. I subscribed to your newletter and joined you on fb and twitter.
Oh boy, favorite flavor? right now it is Tin Roof. Though I’m partial to chocolate fantasy at Tucker’s (yes, it’s decadent). The kids like mint, vanilla, chocolate… …whatever is in the freezer. We often buy ice cream from Trader Joe’s for the best price. When I’m at Nob Hill, I buy the haagen-dazs five. The five stands for 5 ingredients, I think. It’s simply made, almost like we made it at home.
I buy the flavors I like that are on sale.
I hope this giveaway is still open! We buy ice cream when it goes on sale, but our favorite flavor is Birthday Cake. We almost fight over it in our home. A close second is cotton candy. And yes, we are grown adults, and the baby doesn’t eat ice cream yet.
My favourite favour of ice cream is chocolate chip cookie dough! Toppings I like on ice cream are sprinkles and chocolate sauce
I buy my ice cream according to flavour preference!

The meaning of the phrase “ice cream” varies from one country to another. Phrases such as “frozen custard”, “frozen yogurt”, “sorbet”, “gelato” and others are used to distinguish different varieties and styles. In some countries, such as the United States, the phrase “ice cream” applies only to a specific variety, and most governments regulate the commercial use of the various terms according to the relative quantities of the main ingredients.
