Experience DooF-a-Palooza! on Sunday, May 22, 2011, from 10AM-5PM, a free,
play-with-your-food festival for children of all ages, at beautiful Jack London Square. Like the wildly successful prior two festivals held at Google Headquarters, DooF-a-Palooza, a food-backwards, table-to-source, food educational experience includes contests, live animals, rides, games, entertainment and fun hands-on activities with growers, chefs, foodies, and cookbook authors all filmed and streamed live online.
Discover first-hand how the Bay Area’s best food purveyors, farmers, and groups called ‘Sourcerers’ bring their magic to the table in a hands-on, madcap, fun experience. Think, “the Exploratorium with food!” Everyone gets to play! Shoot meatballs out of a catapult into a vat of tomato sauce, milk a rubber cow, “throw” pizza dough like a chef, help make the world’s largest art-pop, kick a soccer ball filled with cream and make it into butter, enter a kid’s cook-off with famous chefs, and lots more.
DooF-a-Palooza is hosted by DooF (www.foodbackwards.com) an integrated, multi-platform media brand designed to get kids and their parents actively engaged in an educational and fun celebration of food through a combination of the Web and live events. DooF makes good food fun by engaging kids and families in the crazy, amazing and wonderful story of where food comes from, and how it ends up on your plate. DooF uses expertise from the worlds of film and live entertainment, food, and online media to support uniquely compelling events and content with the message that “kids and families will be interested in good food not because it’s healthy, but because it’s cool.”
There are still a few sponsorship opportunities available, along with booth space for people who have a fantastic, family friendly food-related product or activity. We are also still looking for some local foodie authors to share and sign their books! Please email me if you are interested in joining in on the fun!
