Say Goodbye to Wasted Food – Hello to Fresh Eggs

At my most recent cooking birthday party, we had to scrape the leftover noodles from the plates before they were washed.  But have no fear – those noodles would not go to the landfill.  I brought out my trusty zip-top bags, collected the remaining food…and brought it home.  For our chickens.  Yes, I said “chickens.”

See…

Perhaps the chickens think I just fed them some giant worms.

  1. What a good idea. I wonder what color the chicken eggs will be? Irena Chalmers

  2. Hi Irena – The chicken in the middle is named “Butterflied.” She lays blue eggs. The one on the left is named “Soup,” and she lays green eggs. Totally amazing and delicious.

  3. Friends of mine from France who have about 40 chickens in their garden, feed them pasta everyday! Don’t forget the oysters shells!

  4. Our neighbors have chickens, and I always feel so much better when our leftovers go to them.
