It’s the end of the school year, and the last thing you want to do is pack another lunch for your kids. And if your kids are sticking around the house this summer, you won’t have to. But for the families whose kids go to summer camp or go on fun day trips, lunch has to go, too. While the ideal may be to get your kids to learn how to pack their own lunches, not all of us are quite there yet…
During one of my guest appearances on ABC’s View From the Bay, my kids and I demonstrated how to make several fun and creative recipes that are perfect for the lunch, to-go. We also show several waste-free lunch items that are available in our online store.

I really appreciate you interest in lunch recipes, I am sure it will really help Moms and Dads to have more fun for their children going for summer camp or just a day picnic.

Summer holidays is a great time to get kids into the kitchen and help make their own lunch. When kids have a hand in making their own food I find they take ownership of it and it quickly disappears without a fuss.
Maybe helping to make lunch might rub off on them and they could be responsible for preparing one item of food for the school lunchbox when school goes back.
Thanks Nicole – I agree that their involvement makes a huge difference!
